At the City of London Corporation, our City Gardens matter. We care for over 160 green spaces, providing places to relax, enjoy nature, and bring nature into the heart of the City of London. We are proud that our gardens are maintained to the highest standards by a committed and skilled team.

We are recruiting for multiple Gardener roles, including standard Gardener positions and Gardener – Volunteer Facilitator positions. These are varied and rewarding roles that require a full range of horticultural skills, the use of landscaping equipment, and a commitment to maintaining our award-winning gardens to the highest standards. You will be supported with the resources needed to deliver ongoing maintenance, improvements, and horticultural projects.

Gardener roles will focus primarily on the practical maintenance and improvement of City Gardens.
Gardener – Volunteer Facilitator roles will additionally involve working with the public, including delivering and supporting corporate volunteer days and engaging confidently with groups of volunteers.

The successful candidates will:

• Hold a Level 2 horticulture qualification

• Have good practical horticultural experience, ideally within busy urban green spaces

• Be flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team

• Be confident using mobile technology to work on the move

• For the Gardener – Volunteer Facilitator role, have strong people skills and confidence engaging with and speaking to groups
