Job Description
JOB BACKGROUND:
To carry out a wide range of horticultural tasks across a variety of Green Space programmes and projects. The role requires work to be carried out to a performance standard agreed with the line manager.
To fully participate in the pursuit of the agreed qualifications and in house training, development and assessment process to develop and demonstrate a range of horticulture skills.
May be required to travel to other locations as and when required.
MAIN OBJECTIVES, KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To carry out a wide range of horticultural tasks to a performance standard agreed with your line manager.
- To fully participate in the training and assessment process to develop and demonstrate a range of skills.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out a range of horticultural activities in support of the Trusts programmes and projects.
- Make day to day practical decisions on how to undertake tasks to maintain and improve green spaces, under supervision.
- To participate in training to develop a wide range of skills, which will be recorded using a daily work record/learning log.
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
- Prioritise own work load.
- Give and receive feedback on work performance with line manager.
- Help maintain a positive approach in the workplace, seek clarity to resolve misunderstandings.
- Interact with partners and colleagues within teams ensuring sound communication and support is provided.
- Take care in maintenance and use of personal protective equipment and machinery provided.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertake any other related responsibilities commensurate with the evolving objectives of the post and the evolution of the Trust, as may reasonably be requested by the Director
- Work with due regard for Groundwork’s core values and objectives
- Ensure the effective implementation of and adherence to, the Trust’s Diversity, Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety policies and procedures
