London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has gone through a range of Transformational Change Programmes to better manage demand and ensure a more effective and efficient service delivery over the last few years. The role involves Team Leading multi skilled front line teams and working outdoors. You will be expected to work with a degree of flexibility to ensure that the service is maintained during operational difficulties or special events. . Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake a short assessment prior to their interview. Full details of this assessment will be provided upon notification of shortlisting. Contractual Terms and Conditions of all Roles The role requires successful candidates to attend Monday to Friday. Hours of work are generally 700am to 330pm. Special requirements for this post
All applicants will be required to hold a valid category B + E licence. To have a good understanding & knowledge of horticultural practices. Willing to undertake further training in horticultural, playground inspections, sports markings, machinery courses and all aspects of cemetery work.
About you
We are looking for a new team member to work in the Parks, Green Space and Highways service. You will be responsible for a wide range of grounds maintenance duties, supporting and working with resources and staff within your team, as well as to ensure schedules are met. The ideal candidate will be able to exhibit the right behaviours and value people with diverse skills and perspectives. Due to the funded training programme offered as part of this post, you must be willing to learn and develop your skillsets and be looking for a long-term career in the field of horticulture.
