The Royal Parks are offering an exciting opportunity to join their Horticultural Apprenticeship Programme, working in some of London’s most iconic green spaces.
This is a fantastic entry point into the green sector, combining hands-on practical experience with formal training, helping you build the skills needed for a long-term career in horticulture, landscaping and park management.
About the Role
As a horticultural apprentice, you’ll work alongside expert park teams maintaining and improving some of the UK’s most famous landscapes.
You’ll gain experience in:
- Planting, pruning and maintaining flower beds, shrubs and trees
- Lawn care and landscape maintenance
- Supporting biodiversity and habitat management
- Seasonal planting and park presentation
- Working as part of a professional horticulture team
You’ll spend most of your time working on-site in the parks, with dedicated time for training and study.
Training & Qualifications
- Work towards a Level 2 Horticulture & Landscape Operative qualification
- Opportunity to progress to an RHS Level 2 Certificate in Practical Horticulture
- Combination of on-the-job learning and college-based study (typically with Capel Manor College)
