Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience
Contract: 12-month fixed term, with potential for renewal
Hours: 22.5–30 hours per week (60–80% FTE)

Job Description
Lead a Thriving Community Garden in the Heart of Lambeth
Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses is looking for an experienced and people-focused Community Garden Manager to help lead its vibrant one-acre community growing space in Brockwell Park.
The site includes an orchard, demonstration gardens, a walled herb garden, two large greenhouses and Brockwell Barn, providing a unique setting where people can learn, volunteer, grow food and connect with nature.
This role is ideal for someone with strong horticultural knowledge who is equally passionate about supporting volunteers, developing people’s skills and creating inclusive green spaces.
About Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses
Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses is a community garden and registered charity based in the heart of Brockwell Park.
A small staff team works alongside a committed community of volunteers to deliver:
- Garden volunteering
- School visits
- Family activities
- Courses and workshops
- Community events
- Environmental education
Their work helps people learn about organic gardening, food growing, biodiversity, wildlife and the natural environment, while creating opportunities for people from across the community to come together.
About the Role
As Community Garden Manager, you’ll combine practical horticulture with volunteer leadership and community engagement.
You’ll play a key role in helping volunteers develop their skills and confidence while ensuring the gardens remain productive, welcoming and well managed.
This role would particularly suit someone who enjoys both hands-on gardening and working with people.
