Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Garden Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and development of our gardens. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for horticulture and landscape management, ensuring that our green spaces are not only beautiful but also thriving. This role requires hands-on experience in gardening, as well as the ability to lead a team effectively.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate daily gardening activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Manage Irrigation water systems, timers, pressure etc.
  • Conduct regular inspections of garden areas to assess plant health and identify any maintenance needs.
  • Oversee landscape maintenance tasks such as pruning, weeding, and mulching to promote healthy growth.
  • Utilise power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks.
  • Train and mentor team members in best practices for gardening techniques and equipment usage.
  • Maintain accurate records of garden activities, including planting dates, maintenance schedules, and inventory of supplies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of plant species, growing conditions, and pest management strategies.
  • Familiarity with irrigation systems and groundskeeping practices.
  • Ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely in a garden environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation between sites if necessary.
