Job Description

Join the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s Parks and Open Spaces team as a Grounds Maintenance Operative, playing a vital role in maintaining the borough’s award-winning parks, open spaces, and historic cemeteries.

As a member of the in-house team, you’ll carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, and other seasonal tasks to ensure Greenwich’s green spaces are safe, tidy, and beautiful year-round.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of grounds maintenance equipment
• Maintain lawns, flower beds, sports fields, and cemeteries
• Support planting, weeding, pruning, and general upkeep
• Ensure spaces are safe and accessible to the public
• Follow health and safety procedures and contribute to team objectives

What They’re Looking For

•  Enthusiastic individuals who enjoy outdoor physical work
• A team player with a strong work ethic
•  A full UK driving licence (desirable)
•  Previous experience in grounds maintenance is a bonus, but not essential
•  A commitment to learning and working safely
