Salary: £12.71 per hour
Contract: Paid sessional (April – October 2026)
Hours: 6 hours per week (Wednesdays & Saturdays)

Flowerphul is a community led floristry organisation based in Southall, using flowers as a tool for connection, culture and wellbeing. They work with women and young people across West London to build confidence, skills and community through creative and practical growing projects.
About the Role
Flowerphul is seeking a passionate and experienced Head Gardener to lead a community growing project in partnership with the National Trust at Osterley Park.
This is a hands-on, community-facing role where you’ll lead the growing of seasonal flowers across two sites, support participants with little or no gardening experience, and help create a welcoming and inspiring space for all.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Plan and deliver the growing of seasonal cut flowers across both sites
- Lead weekly gardening sessions, demonstrating techniques and sharing knowledge
- Support and guide community participants in sowing, growing and harvesting
- Maintain high horticultural and aesthetic standards across both gardens
- Encourage sustainable and organic growing practices
- Create a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for participants
- Act as a mentor, helping individuals build skills, confidence and wellbeing through gardening
Who We’re Looking For
This role would suit someone who is passionate about community gardening, sustainability and social impact.
You will:
- Have strong practical experience in growing flowers or vegetables
- Ideally hold an RHS Level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Be committed to sustainable and organic growing methods
- Have excellent people skills and experience working with diverse groups
- Be organised, proactive and confident leading sessions
- Bring a positive, “can-do” attitude and enthusiasm for community work

Working Pattern
