About us
Lee Valley Regional Park is London’s biggest open space and stretches an incredible 26 miles along the leafy banks of the River Lee, from Ware in Hertfordshire, through Essex, to the Thames at East India Dock Basin. The park provides a unique ‘natural’ corridor on London’s doorstep and provides a vital refuge for wildlife. It contains a variety of landscapes and open spaces to enjoy, from industrial heritage sites and nature reserves, to a 1,000 acre country park and Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
This fantastic opportunity will be based in Lee Valley Regional Park green spaces – initially delivery will be focused in and around Broxbourne, Epping Forest and Enfield.
About the role
We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join us as Health and Wellbeing Activator on a part time casual basis, including weekend working. Working throughout the park this post will support and assist the sport and active recreation team with the delivery of our health and wellbeing programme. The candidates will need to demonstrate enthusiasm towards motivating individuals to lead a more active lifestyle & preferably some experience.
General responsibilities of the posts will include:

The health and wellbeing activator will plan and deliver a range initiatives within our Get Active programme with a focus on our walking programmes.

To motivate individuals to lead a more active lifestyle and meet the needs of each individual involved within our programmes and sessions

Work with individuals and/or groups with a range of abilities, age ranges and varying backgrounds, including people with a range of physical and mental health related problems

Undertake administrative tasks related to the sessions, including, updating registers, distributing data capture forms and adhering to all LVRPA health and safety procedures for each session/programme.
You will need to understand the benefits of physical activity and exercise for individuals, families and communities, and know why adopting an active and healthy lifestyle is important. We are looking for an individual with an ability to motivate, enthuse and inspire people from different communities and backgrounds. This individual will have past experience of leading (coaching/instructing) health and physical activity sessions.
The post will have no fixed hours but will be offered casual hours on an ad-hoc basis when needed to support service delivery, anti-social hours may be required.
