About Us
The City of London Corporation’s Natural Environment Division manages some of the UK’s most cherished and historic green spaces. Within this, North London Open Spaces (NLOS) oversees Hampstead Heath, Highgate Wood, West Ham Park, and Queen’s Park—each operated as charitable trusts for the benefit of surrounding communities.
These spaces are defined by their unique landscapes, biodiversity, heritage, and recreational value. We are committed to working in partnership with local communities and stakeholders to conserve and enhance these green spaces for current and future generations.
About Hampstead Heath
Hampstead Heath is one of London’s most iconic open spaces, spanning nearly 800 acres of ancient woodland, meadows, and wetlands. A protected public open space since 1871, the Heath is a cultural and ecological treasure, featuring natural and historic landmarks including Parliament Hill, bathing ponds, a zoo, and the Grade-II listed pergola.

This role requires a hands-on approach, physical stamina, and the ability to work in all weather conditions. You will regularly engage with the public and work closely with volunteers, contractors, and other staff members.
