Job Description

Help shape the future of West London’s green spaces!
Ealing Council is working with partners to create a new regional park – an ambitious proposal that will create a thriving natural, cultural, and recreational hub for West London. We’re now looking for a passionate and dynamic Engagement Officer to lead inclusive and innovative community engagement for the West London Regional Park project. This is a unique opportunity to ensure local voices (especially young people and underrepresented groups) play a central role in shaping a landmark initiative for Ealing.

About the Role

You’ll be the driving force behind community involvement, ensuring ideas from residents and partners influence the park’s business plan, design, and identity. From co-design workshops to digital engagement campaigns, you’ll create opportunities for people to connect, contribute, and feel proud of this transformative project.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver wide-reaching, inclusive engagement activities across Ealing.
  • Build strong relationships with local groups, schools, and partners.
  • Facilitate co-design processes for the park’s trail, hubs, and branding.
  • Develop creative digital engagement strategies and produce regular newsletters.
  • Promote volunteering and community-led initiatives that support sustainability and biodiversity.

About You

  • Experienced in community engagement and co-design, with a track record of working with diverse communities.
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to build trust and inspire participation.
  • Confident using digital tools and social media to engage audiences.
  • Committed to equality, diversity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability.

You must have the right to work in the UK. Evidence for the right to work in the UK will be requested at the interview stage.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in community development, environmental studies, communications, or similar.
  • Proven experience in delivering engagement projects and working with volunteer groups.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.
