Job Description

The Role

As a Senior Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the conservation, maintenance and enhancement of various historic and operational structures across the Royal Parks.

Overseeing assets such as buildings, monuments, lakes, bridges and public facilities, you will ensure these are preserved and maintained in accordance with best practices, while balancing budgetary constraints and regulatory requirements.

You will also manage cyclical condition surveys, oversee the Forward Maintenance Register and develop conservation and maintenance plans, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing budgets, reporting on Key Performance Targets (KPTs) and supervising a multi-disciplinary team of surveyors and engineers to deliver on the maintenance priorities.

Additionally, you will:

  • Provide expert advice on building conservation and health and safety
  • Support the maintenance of asset registers and essential records
  • Oversee minor works projects and liaise with relevant teams
  • Provide design reviews for maintainability and constructability
  • Assist in preparing conservation reports and schedules for buildings occupied by third parties

About You

To be considered as a Senior Surveyor, you will need:

  • Proven experience in building surveying
  • Knowledge and experience of Building Regulations
  • Experience of planning and listed building practise, the roles of Historic England and local planning authorities
  • Knowledge of Building Pathology
  • A professional RICS qualification
