Salary: £37,028 – £41,642 per annum

Job Description
About the Role
As Tree Officer, you will take ownership of a range of tree-related planning applications and provide specialist arboricultural advice to support sustainable development across the district.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing applications for works to protected trees
- Processing Tree Preservation Order (TPO) applications
- Reviewing notifications for works within Conservation Areas
- Providing arboricultural input to planning applications
- Supporting pre-application enquiries and appeals
- Undertaking site visits and inspections
- Working closely with planning officers and stakeholders
- Contributing to the protection and enhancement of the district’s tree stock
Trees are a vital part of Mole Valley’s natural and built environment, and this role plays an important part in ensuring their long-term protection and management.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Holds a recognised arboricultural qualification (or qualification in a closely related discipline)
- Has experience assessing the amenity value and management of trees
- Is enthusiastic about developing a career in tree protection and planning
- Is a positive, self-motivated and proactive individual
- Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team
- Has strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle for work purposes
