Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing individual to join a dedicated team responsible for the care, management and maintenance of the trees at Epping Forest.

The successful candidate will undertake a varied workload including a full range of Arboriculture and forestry tasks. You will be required to learn to climb and maintain trees using basic Arboriculture tools and equipment and assist in the maintenance of the trees in accordance with good Arboriculture practice.

Your apprenticeship will last for 18 months, and you will spend one day per week and block release at college in training towards a Level 2 qualification as an Arboriculture Operative whilst also developing practical experience in the workplace.

The working hours are Monday – Friday between 7.40am – 3.45pm (3.15 pm Friday)

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must have a least Grade 4/ C GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.

This apprenticeship role is based in  Epping Forest North-East London.

This apprenticeship role is based at Epping Forest and will last for 24 months (including time to complete your End Point Assessment).

If you are enthusiastic and committed to achieving your Arborist level 2 apprenticeship and are eligible to apply, we would love to hear from you.

To qualify for this apprenticeship, you will need to be:

  • 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays
  • Living in England
  • Not in full-time education at the time of applying

If you are a non-UK citizen – you need to have permission from the UK government to live in the UK (not for educational purposes) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years before the start of the apprenticeship.

Selected apprenticeships require evidence of English and Maths GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent.

Prior learning: If you have prior learning e.g., a similar or higher level of qualification like the apprenticeship we will be unable to consider your application as your prior learning will not meet the funding rule criteria. If you have prior experience in a similar role to the apprenticeship your experience may also exclude you from an apprenticeship.
