Job Description

About you

You should have good experience in direct management of a team, preferably from a ground’s maintenance or arboriculture background.

·      Good knowledge of horticulture practices as well as clean full UK driving licence is essential for the role as you will be required to drive a company vehicle. You will also engage in direct horticultural activities, as well as guide and motivate team members to achieve targets.

·      You must have good computer skills, especially MS Windows and MS Office and be able to learn other computer, communication and reporting systems.

·      You will be organising, monitoring and inspecting work of gardening teams, working on schedules, round and rotas and therefore need to have good planning and organisational skills to ensure the most effective and efficient service is delivered and work schedules followed. You will be expected to identify performance issues and come up with operational and/or strategic plans to rectify these.

·      You will be also producing data and statistics such as key performance indicators, records of used resources and tools and machinery records. You will be responsible for safe working practices, and you will need to ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements are regularly reviewed and share with the team.

·      It is an essential requirement that you have good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Relevant mandatory and on the job, training will be provided as well as training to support your ongoing development.

For this post the successful candidate will need to undergo a Basic Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check to enable them to work within the team.
