Green Space Skills Hub is pleased to promote a fully funded Retrofit Construction Skills Programme, delivered in partnership with Groundwork London and Community Coworking.
This programme supports Londoners to gain practical green construction skills that help make buildings warmer, healthier, and more energy efficient – reducing carbon emissions and supporting the UK’s transition to a low-carbon future .
About the Programme
Retrofit plays a vital role in tackling climate change by upgrading existing buildings rather than replacing them. Through this programme, learners gain hands on experience and accredited training aligned with real employer demand in the green construction sector.
Participants will work towards a City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Retrofit, alongside essential health, safety, and employability training to support progression into sustainable construction roles.
What You’ll Gain
- City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Retrofit (employer-recognised qualification)
- Health & Safety Level 1 in Construction
- CSCS card preparation and test
- Practical hand-tool and on-site skills
- Carbon Literacy training and understanding the environmental impact of construction
- Employability support including CV writing and interview preparation
- 5-day work experience placement with industry partners
- Guaranteed interview with live employers in the retrofit and construction sector
Who Is This For?
This opportunity is ideal for people who want to:

Eligibility criteria:
- Must live in a London borough
- Aged 19+ with the right to work in the UK
- Not currently in employment, education or training (NEET)
Practical Information
- Moderate physical work involved
- Travel costs covered
- PPE required (steel toe cap boots can be provided if needed)
- Bring comfortable clothing and refreshments
- Strong timekeeping and a positive attitude are essential

Next Steps
